Celebrate The Joys Of Christmas

My new Altenew Build A Flower: Poinsettia has been patiently awaiting my attention. Today we were blessed with our first snowfall here in New Jersey (Northeastern US). So lovely to have snow when everything is decorated for Christmas. I spent much of the day in my craft room and I finally broke out the poinsettia. I inked it twice in reds then greens. I put it together with a bit of gold glitter paper, a stencil-embossed background and a piece of patterned paper using Freshly Made Sketches #316 for my layout, and this card was born.

Joy To The World

December has arrived, and it's time for a new set of challenges at Happy Little Stampers

The December Christmas Challenge is Anything goes with an optional twist of stencil.

I went for the twist in a new-to-me way. I used the Inked Stencil Dry Embossing technique that you can check out HERE. For the background, I inked the Hero Arts Festive Star and Bauble stencil with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and ran it through my Cuttlebug. The sentiment is done with Winnie & Walter's In A Word: Joy Cutaway and PTI Luxe Gold Adhesive paper along with part of a sentiment from Impression Obsession Clear Stamps Peace On Earth set.

The winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the Happy Little Stampers shop! Check out all the details HERE.

I Can Smell Autumn

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in the US. It is by far my most favorite holiday - all about gratitude and sharing and taking time out to breathe and enjoy. I'm sneaking in with one more autumn themed card before the onslaught of "all Christmas all the time". I did a watercolor wash with autumn colors, added some splatters and stamped this wonderful image from Stampendous Pen Patterned Leaves embossed in gold. The sentiment is from So Suzy. I love the way it turned out.

Chestnuts Roasting

I was digging deep into the black hole of my stash today, and I ran across this wonderful SU background stamp that I have had forever... then I found this wonderful stamp set (Subway Series Holidays) from Fresh Squeezed Stamps which is sadly no longer in business. I looked at some challenges for inspiration, put them all together, and this is what happened!

Are You Yeti?

Time Out Challenge #96 is up and running. The challenge is to CASE this gorgeous card created by Michele Ferguson of I Card Everyone.

I decided to use the layout of Michele's card with ink blending and the sentiment on the diagonal. I  changed the theme to Christmas, and stamped my sentiment rather than die dutting and stacking it. Some time ago, one of my dear Time Out teammates, Jill Vickers, gifted me this adorable MFT stamp set called BB Beast Friends. I decided it was high time to pull it out and go to work on my creation. I stamped 3 of the beasts on Nenah Solar White card stock, colored them with Copics, and arranged them on the masked, DOX-inked background. Since the little guy holding the present had his head tilted, I set the one with the cuppa a little off to the left on top of him. I hope he doesn't fall off!!! LOL. I stamped the punny sentiment on the diagonal, and mounted the white panel on Gina K Red Velvet base layering card stock.

Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring this challenge. Challenge winner will receive a $15.00 gift voucher to spend in the Happy Little Stampers Store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very creative Bobby of Bits and Pieces. Bobby's blog is full of creative and inspiring cards. We are so pleased to have Bobby as our Guest Designer. Not only do we find her cards inspiring but Bobby has supported Time Out for a long time and we thank you Bobby for this. We urge you to check out here blog here.

Please hop on over to the Time Out Challenges Blog and see what Michele and the DT have created for your inspiration. How does Michele's card inspire you? I am looking forward to finding out.

November Sunflower

Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies November Challenge is up and running. I used some things from my snippet stash for this one. This gorgeous sunflower die cut was sent to me by a blogger friend Barb Ghigliotty quite a while ago. I finally inked it up with some distress inks and mounted it on textured card stock. The frame was a leftover from another project. The two went together beautifully for this card.

The winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

Be Good

It's November, and time for a new set of challenges from Happy Little Stampers. I'm here with the November Christmas Challenge which is, as always, anything goes. This month's optional twist is "tag". I pulled out a Waltzingmouse Stamp set called Around Christmas Time and combined one of the images with Papertrey Ink's Tag Sale #4 die, cut from brushed silver card stock. I added some punched pine branches and an ornament hanger (paperclip). My tag is mounted on an embossed white panel, which is then mounted on a Real Red card base. The glitter bow is die cut from Pretty Pink Posh's Twine & Bows die set.
