Spring Joy

Isn't this little guy adorable?? I am still in need of some Easter cards, so I pulled out my Spring Homespun Cotton Scraps from Crafty Secrets for an idea for a quick card. Earlier this evening, I was perusing the Color Throwdown Blog for some inspiration, and I noticed that the colors in this little chick image went perfectly with Color Throwdown #85. Then I saw Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #66, and voila! My card came together rather quickly. That hardly ever happens with me! Here is Mercy's wonderful sketch...
...and here is Color Throwdown #85.

It all went together very well and now I have another Easter card finished! Here are the supplies that I used:
Paper~Baja Breeze, Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Not Quite Navy, White.
Stamps~None.
Ink~None.
Accessories~Cuttle Bug/EF, SU Scallop Border & Corner punches, Dimensionals, Crafty Secrets Homespun Cotton Scraps-Spring, Certainly Celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.

C4C Easter

This week's challenge over at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog is the sketch above. I have to laugh at myself... even though this is supposed to be "CLEAN & SIMPLE", it still took me a long time to get the color combo right and fuss with all of the elements until I was satisfied with it. In the end, I like the way it turned out. The base of the card is Perfect Plum, topped with a layer of Apricot Appeal. The DP is from Papertrey Ink's "Egg Hunt" collection. The image is one that I have had in my stash for a long time by Inkadinkado. I colored it with Copics on Neenah Solar White and matted it on Green Galore, Bashful Blue and Perfect Plum. The sentiment is from SU's "A Good Egg". Thanks for stopping in today!

Happy Easter Chickie!!

Happy Spring! The weather here in NJ has been just gorgeous these past few days. I hope we don't see another snow flake before the lion has turned all the way to lamb. This week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner is to make a spring/Easter themed card or project. I was inspired to try some new things with this one. This is my first digi stamp project. This adorable Pure Innocence image is from Heather Ellis.

For the layout, I used Jen Del Muro's SFYTT from 3/13/2010. It is such a fun sketch, and I though it would work well with my little chickie.
I also tried a new technique for popping images outside the boundaries of your Nestabilities. Click HERE to view the Youtube video tutorial on this technique. I used my new egg die , Egg Hunt Stamps and Egg Hunt Patterned Paper from Papertrey Ink. All so fun! I just love this little girl, and I love the way this card came out. New toys, new technique, new season. Here are the ingredients:
Papers-Elegant Eggplant, Barely Banana, Neenah Solar White, Egg Hunt patterned paper.
Ink-VersaFine Onyx Black, Versa Mark.
Stamps-Pure Innocence PI025, Egg Hunt, SU's A Good Egg.
Accessories-Nestabilities, white embossing powder, heat tool, Dimensionals, mat pack & piercing tool, Sakura white glaze pen, Copic markers, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Hero Arts acid free adhesive crystals.

Butterfly Sympathy

This is what I came up with for this week's OCC Challenge, which is a wonderful sketch. I love BasicGrey's Wisteria DP, and SU's Rich Razzleberry goes so well with it. Kraft is marvelous in this combination of papers. The butterfly is from Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings set. It is embossed in gold on Wisteria DP, cut out and popped up. I used SU's Bashful Blue 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon behind the top panel. The sentiment is from Verve's Forever in Our Hearts. I really like this way this turned out. Thanks for stopping by today.
